How To Use Maria’s Desert Rose & Drainage Potting Mix

  • Make sure that your planter has huge drainage holes.
  • Fill your planter 3/4 with the drainage potting mix.
  • Fill the remainder quarter on top of the drainage mix you filled your planters  with Maria’s garden Desert Rose miracle potting mix.
  • Make sure that you pat down the Desert rose potting mix, so it could be solid and firm.
  • Dig out a hole on top of the soil butt in the middle big enough so you can plant your desert rose in. Save the soil that you dug out from the middle of your pot on the side.
  • When you plant your desert rose do not push down on the roots into the soil, the roots have to go in straight down.
  • Start putting the soil that you dug out around the Desert Rose and put more of the Desert Rose potting mix around the desert Rose. Make sure that you are putting in the desert Rose at the line where you see a shade darker that would be the line where it was potted before.
  • Make sure that there are no air pockets around the desert by gently tucking your fingers around the desert rose roots, you would feel if there is air pockets and by doing this your filling the air pockets will the potting mix.
  • Don’t water the desert rose, place her under a bush or a tree for shade. No direct sunlight. Leave it there for four weeks until you see new growth. If it doesn’t rain in 7 days you can give her 2 inches of water twice a day
  • After four weeks try introducing her to direct sunlight gradually let her out a couple hour at a time.
  • Never place her on cement. Morning sun is best! Then move her in shades, in direct sunlight gradually. Remember, water her twice a week depending on temperature outside. Winter time in dormant, she needs less water, in temperatures in the low 40’s don’t water because the roots will get frost and the plant can die. It’s best to check the potting mix with your fingers to see if the potting mix is dry before watering.
